lovin': johnnymeg

photo via johnnymeg

i've been turned into a necklace..and i'm lovin' it. my friend and fellow annapolis-based designer, carly thurman creates one-of-a-kind, hand-made pieces out of natural stones and semi-precious jewels under the name johnnymeg.

johnnymeg necklaces are stunners. i've paired johnnymeg with aliceanna and loved the result.

visit johnnymeg's shop here and on facebook here.

news: now available at nana

i'm pleased & proud to announce that aliceanna is now available at nana boutique in dc.
i delivered some pieces today, and more will be added throughout the month of may, ranging in sizes 2-10.

nana is a shop inspired by all things vintage, modern, hand-made and mindfully made, and was recently voted best clothing boutique by dc's city paper readers.

make a point to visit nana soon and keep and eye out for aliceanna delivery posts!

current inspiration

via marie claire runway mag

i bought a copy of marie claire runway, and it has been the best $18 spent.
the first edition of it's kind, marie claire runway is a compilation of runway shows, backstage photos and interviews from s/s '12 fashion week.

the above images are taken from the magazine. they're currently inspiring me & reminding me of what fashion is supposed to be: fun (garlic bulb earrings, chanel's version of dot candy paper) & pretty (lace, eyelet, more lace).

purchase the magazine online or at your local barnes & noble.

hometown love

i think it made my parents just as proud-if not more proud-that their daughter was featured in the local paper in addition to Southern Living magazine in the same week.
my dad went out and picked up multiple copies of the Pasadena Voice, and my mom brought it in to work with her to show anyone & everyone willing to listen.

number one fans over there.

the online version can be read here.

treat yo(ur)self

i've been workin' hard. real hard.
i think it's high time i treat myself.

now the only question is: blue or orange (or both)?

southern living magazine + aliceanna

i've been on cloud nine all week.

i came home from work on monday to this in my mailbox. the sweet people at southern living mailed me an advanced copy of the aliceanna article from their may issue. how amazing is this?

many thanks to the fantastic erin shaw street for this opportunity, robbie caponetto for the flawless photo, and the sweet celine russell for her hair/makeup/styling skills.

also, thank you to my aliceanna ladies, amanda, meagan, lauren & rachelle.

look for the may issue of southern living out on newstands at the beginning of next month.

byt's fashion district recap

i'm pretty sure my little label was the underdog of the event. there was alot of press and coverage on last thursday evening's fashion district, but not much mention of aliceanna. thanks to brightest young things for including us in their round up.

façon magazine + aliceanna

aliceanna's elisa dress was featured in façon magazine's spring '12 issue.
i didn't realize it until the editor herself, janice susan wallace, informed me of it. janice attended readysetdc's fashion district last night and popped in the aliceanna booth to say hi. she is a warm, genuine person and seems to have a great passion for the dc fashion industry. dc is lucky to have her.

thank you again, janice. the magazine is beautiful. check it out here. façon spotlights emerging artists and fashion in the city as well as upcoming events worth checking out. i will be adding façon magazine to my rapidly growing daily reading list of all things dc.

our cross country trip through the eyes of instagram (before instagram sold out).
after 6 days on the road, 3000 miles traveled and breaking down in the desert at night, i'm anxious to get back to annapolis and pack for fashion district on thursday.
