i've been on the hunt for a great pullover sweater for quite some time. it's harder than it seems. i wanted something slouchy without being super over-sized, in a great oatmeal/natural color, with an interesting texture to it. a go-to piece to wear with skinny pants + my micro mesh button down with little bits of mesh collar and sleeves peeking out; thrown over a white tank + messily rolled up relaxed fit jeans + broken in doc martens; worn overtop a tiny knit dress with slubby sweater tights and beaten to death lace up frye boots.
i strolled into american apparel last weekend, and found the answer folded up on a table in the men's section: the fisherman's pullover in wheat. the men's size small is the perfect amount of fit + slouch (must remember to shop the men's section first).
my friend dusty was in town for business the other week, and extended his visit through the weekend to spend time with his favorite little cake slice. we did all the activities we used to do when we both lived in brooklyn; tons of thrifting, searching for antique + vintage finds and an impromptu trip to malibu. the convo went something like:
d: let's drive to malibu
me: but..it's 3:00 already, and i don't have a bathing suit in my car.
malibu is one of the most relaxing & most beautiful places i've been to. the view of the coastline is breath-taking. going on the must-do-again-soon list.
